    Fascinating fact I learned on this trip: that's NOT from the Revolution! Or, rather, not the Revolution I always thought it was. It's from the July Revolution of 1830. Who knew?

    Well, obviously from the costumes it's 1830 and not 1800 or whatever. No woman (even the French) would have been caught dead showing her bosom like that prior to about 1820.
